Position Overview 
Perform specified tasks at a transload facility to meet safety, quality, and efficiency goals while supporting the policies and objectives of the Company. 
Essential Job Functions
  • Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Follow written and verbal directions to complete assigned tasks on schedule.
  • Learn from directions, observations, and mistakes and apply procedures using good judgment.
  • Understand and follow all policies, procedures and safety rules as applicable to facility, job function and equipment.
  • Apply working knowledge of RMT Safety and Operating principles.
  • Prepare equipment for product transfer.
  • Start, stop, and operate engines/pumps within defined operating parameters.
  • Work with pressurized vessels and/or hoses.
  • Transload dry (or other) bulk products (e.g. Frac Sand, salt, grain, etc.) to/from railcars and trucks utilizing safe operating procedures.
  • Complete all applicable documentation, recordkeeping and daily inventory.
  • Participate in safety briefings, job briefings, etc. in order to share information from team members, management, customer.
  • Operate in a manner where SAFETY and ENVIRONMENT are of the highest importance.
  • Climb onto top of, and underneath railcars, in order to inspect and seal railcars using a checklist.
  • Enter data into computer, work with spreadsheets.  Perform structural inspections as required.
  • Maintain equipment to RMT standards, and ensure all equipment, including personal protective equipment (PPE), is in proper working order.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Wear appropriate PPE as required.
  • Report all hazards or potentially hazardous situations, accidents, incidents and injuries immediately to supervisor.
  • Must be able to work with a team, take direction and follow work rules, as well as take on additional job responsibilities as needed or assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly.
  • Ability to work outdoors the majority of the time, and withstand extreme weather conditions.
  • Must possess basic math skills: multiplication, division, percentages. Load and unload dry bulk materials, liquids, chemicals into or from   
  • Basic mechanical abilities.
  • Must have basic computer abilities and be very comfortable working with computers.
  • Must maintain regular, dependable attendance and a high level of performance 
  • Flexibility required: ability to work days, nights, weekends, as well as travel to other facilities as needed.

Environment
The employee is regularly required to stand, sit and walk; use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. Must be able to bend, stoop, balance, kneel, crouch, twist or crawl; lift up to 50 pounds alone; climb onto top of, and underneath railcars and on top of silos. Must be able to speak and hear well enough to communicate with all team members, vendors, and customers 100% of the time. Vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to dust, moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
